🚀 Job Overview

AECI Mining is seeking three (3) committed and safety-focused Operations Assistants to support MMU (Mobile Manufacturing Unit) operations in Mankwe, North-West. These positions play a vital role in assisting the MMU Controller with blasting preparation, housekeeping, loading activities, and maintaining world-class operational standards.

This role is suited for individuals with strong attention to detail, physical stamina, excellent teamwork, and a passion for maintaining safe mining environments.

🎯 Purpose of the Role

To provide essential operational support to the MMU Controller by ensuring safe, compliant, efficient, and well-coordinated blasting operations. You will help maintain equipment, uphold World Class housekeeping standards, and ensure compliance with legal and company safety requirements.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

🔧 Operational Support

• Assist the MMU Controller in operating and managing MMU functions to meet customer and production requirements (OTIF).

• Support in conducting regular SABS-compliant inspections on fixed plants and MMUs.

• Aid in identifying equipment non-conformances, escalation, and preventative measures.

💣 Blasting Preparation & Execution

• Assist in charging up functions following AECI standards.

• Help with priming duties and stemming blast holes where required.

• Handle packaged explosives and accessories safely and within compliance regulations.

🧹 Housekeeping & Maintenance

• Maintain bench housekeeping and ensure the wash bay and truck park remain clean.

• Uphold World Class Standards by keeping all MMUs spotless and operationally ready.

🚛 Loading & Unloading

• Support loading/unloading of products, explosives, and accessories on and off trucks.

⚖️ Safety & Legal Compliance

• Follow all legal, depot, and safety requirements at all times.

• Maintain readiness to obtain required safety certifications for explosives handling and emergency response.

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

• ✔️ Grade 12 (Matric)

• ✔️ Ability to obtain a Red Ticket health clearance

• ✔️ Ability to obtain First Aid and Fire Fighting Certificates

• ✔️ MQA Blasting Assistant Qualification

• ✔️ Experience in handling dangerous goods

• ✔️ Code B Driver’s Licence
