Internship Overview

The Operations Internship provides broad exposure to skills development coordination, learner administration, reporting, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement. The intern will support departmental operations and contribute to the smooth delivery of training, accreditation, and learner management processes.

This internship is well suited to graduates pursuing careers in operations, administration, project coordination, skills development, or public sector management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with coordinating skills development programmes in line with Services SETA guidelines

  • Support the planning, organisation, and monitoring of training activities and workshops

  • Assist with organising stakeholder meetings, forums, and skills development events

  • Collect, compile, and maintain data on skills development programmes and learner outcomes

  • Receive and verify documentation for accuracy and compliance

  • Assist with capturing learner information on the Learner Management System (LMS)

  • Support the compilation and submission of project implementation reports

  • Prepare and provide monthly learner statistics reports

  • Assist in the evaluation and accreditation of training providers

  • Prepare, manage, and maintain accreditation documentation

  • Support the issuance and verification of certificates

  • Maintain accurate records of certified individuals and organisations

  • Assist with quality assurance processes and compliance activities

  • Support the evaluation and approval of workplace training environments

  • Prepare and maintain documentation for workplace approvals

  • Provide general administrative support to ensure departmental efficiency

  • Coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, and events hosted by the SETA

  • Answer telephone calls and respond to enquiries professionally

  • Process travel-related documentation for the department

  • Maintain databases and records of service providers

  • Develop, manage, and maintain filing systems and departmental records

  • Receive, distribute, and track correspondence and official documents

  • Support meeting agenda preparation, distribution, and communication of schedule changes


Qualifications and Requirements

Education

  • National Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification (minimum NQF Level 4)

  • National Diploma or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 6) in:

    • Business Administration

    • Public Administration

    • Office Administration

    • Project Management

    • Human Resources

    • Or a related field

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation

  • Ability to manage records, reports, and databases

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deadlines

  • Computer literacy and familiarity with administrative systems

  • Professional conduct and confidentiality awareness

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
