JOB OVERVIEW

The Operations Manager – Inland Region is responsible for leading and coordinating cleaning and hygiene operations across multiple client sites. The role focuses on operational excellence, compliance, staff management, and client satisfaction. The successful candidate will ensure consistent service delivery while driving continuous improvement, cost control, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and oversee cleaning and hygiene services across multiple sites within the Inland Region
Lead and support site managers and operational teams to achieve service delivery targets
Ensure full compliance with hygiene, safety, quality, and SLA requirements
Conduct regular site inspections and audits, implementing corrective actions where required
Manage staffing levels, recruitment, training, performance management, and discipline
Monitor operational performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Control labour costs, budgets, stock levels, and equipment usage
Maintain accurate time, attendance, rostering, and workforce records
Utilise workforce management systems to track attendance trends and address discrepancies
Build and maintain strong client relationships, responding effectively to service needs
Promote sustainable cleaning practices and environmentally responsible operations
Drive innovation through improved processes, tools, and cleaning technologies

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

Matric / Grade 12 (minimum requirement)
Relevant tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Retail Management, or a related field (advantageous)

Experience

3–5 years’ experience in cleaning or hygiene operations
Proven experience supervising staff and managing operational teams
Experience managing multiple sites will be an added advantage

Skills

Strong understanding of cleaning processes, hygiene standards, and service delivery models
Ability to interpret SLAs and conduct operational audits
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel
Experience with workforce and attendance management systems
Basic knowledge of HR processes and labour legislation
Excellent organisational, leadership, and time management skills
Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
