ROLE OVERVIEW

The Operations Manager will lead warehouse and contract logistics operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, service excellence, and financial control. This role requires a strong operational leader with experience in warehouse management, team leadership, and continuous process improvement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Management

• Ensure warehouse operations run efficiently and meet company and client performance standards
• Optimise workflows, layouts, and operational processes to improve productivity
• Coordinate daily logistics activities to support seamless order fulfilment

Team Leadership

• Lead, train, and performance-manage warehouse staff
• Ensure teams are aligned with operational targets and company objectives
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement

Customer Service & Stakeholder Engagement

• Maintain high customer service standards and address operational issues promptly
• Act as a liaison between internal departments and external clients
• Ensure service level agreements are consistently met

Inventory & Systems Management

• Oversee inventory accuracy, availability, and control processes
• Implement and manage inventory control systems to reduce discrepancies
• Utilise WMS and ERP systems to track performance and operational data

Safety, Compliance & Risk

• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
• Conduct regular safety audits and training sessions
• Promote a safe, compliant, and risk-aware working environment

Process Improvement & Financial Control

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using best practices and technology
• Monitor and manage operational budgets and cost controls
• Support profitability while maintaining high service levels

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
• Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in logistics or supply chain operations
• Proven experience managing warehouse and distribution operations
• Experience in contract logistics is advantageous
• Strong working knowledge of WMS and ERP systems
