Job Overview

The Operations Supervisor at Aramex ensures that express and domestic operations run efficiently and in compliance with company procedures. The role emphasizes fleet management, facility oversight, operational cost optimization, and the leadership of operational teams to maintain high performance standards.


Key Responsibilities

Fleet Management

  • Maintain detailed files for all company vehicles with complete histories and documentation

  • Ensure vehicle licenses, inspections, and roadworthiness are up to date year-round

  • Optimize fleet costs, including repairs, tyres, spares, and maintenance

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and communicate suggestions to management

  • Control high-cost areas: tyres, fuel consumption (fraud detection), and spares

  • Implement fraud prevention measures for petrol cards, vehicle keys, and spares

  • Maintain warranties and oversee follow-up for repairs and maintenance schedules

  • Plan vehicle maintenance schedules in collaboration with Senior Supervisors and Operations Manager

  • Conduct daily and spot checks to ensure operational compliance with vehicle checklists

  • Assist Senior Operations Supervisor with new vehicle acquisitions and budgeting

Facilities Management

  • Ensure upkeep of company premises, including wash bays and outdoor areas

  • Oversee timely repairs and maintenance of all building systems and equipment

  • Manage maintenance budgets and supplier contracts

  • Conduct scheduled testing for generators, alarms, security, and access systems

  • Investigate facility damages and implement corrective actions

  • Apply 5S principles and maintain high housekeeping standards

  • Source and manage suppliers for ad hoc facility maintenance in collaboration with the Office Manager

Leadership & Team Management

  • Build, mentor, and develop high-performing operational teams

  • Set clear direction and operational objectives

  • Promote collaboration across departments and break silos

  • Drive accountability and execution within the operations team

  • Encourage innovation, inclusion, and a growth mindset among staff


Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent

  • Degree or equivalent qualification preferred

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in operations management

  • Minimum 3 years’ management experience

  • Valid Code 10 Driver’s License with a valid Public Driver’s Permit (PDP)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
