Role Overview

Inspired Education is seeking an inspiring and future-focused IT & Coding Teacher to join its Constantia campus on a part-time basis from January 2026. This role focuses on teaching Grades 10–12, with an emphasis on developing students’ coding skills, computational thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

The successful candidate will play a key role in empowering learners to become confident digital creators while contributing positively to the academic and pastoral life of the school.


Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute actively and collaboratively within a dynamic academic team

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging IT and Coding lessons aligned to the IEB curriculum

  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes deep learning

  • Ensure effective use and functionality of school systems, including iSAMS

  • Demonstrate professionalism in conduct, punctuality, and teaching standards

  • Continuously evaluate and refine teaching practice to maintain excellence

  • Meet all required timelines for lesson planning, assessment, and reporting

  • Fulfil Tutor Teacher responsibilities, providing pastoral care and student support

  • Set, mark, and moderate assessments consistently and accurately

  • Produce clear, constructive, and meaningful report comments

  • Support the wider school community with commitment and integrity

  • Undertake additional reasonable duties as required by school leadership


Qualifications and Requirements

Education

  • Recognised teaching qualification

  • SACE registration

  • Legal right to work in South Africa

Experience and Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years’ successful teaching experience at senior school level

  • Strong subject knowledge in IT / Computer Science

  • Confident coding ability (e.g. Python, Java, web technologies)

  • Proven experience delivering IEB-aligned lessons

  • Confidence using school information systems such as iSAMS

  • Strong assessment, feedback, and reporting skills

  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time-management abilities

  • Reflective, growth-oriented teaching approach

  • Collaborative mindset and professional reliability
