Role Overview

As a Pastry Chef/Baker, you will be part of a dynamic kitchen team delivering exceptional pastries, breads, and desserts to delight guests across restaurants, buffets, and special events. This role combines technical culinary skills with creativity, team leadership, and a strong focus on hygiene, quality, and guest satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present a wide variety of pastries, breads, and desserts for daily service and special events.

  • Supervise and coordinate a team of 4–7 pastry chefs and pastry commis, ensuring productivity and high standards.

  • Maintain mise en place, monitor presentation, and replenish buffets (serving 600–1,000 covers per service).

  • Manage inventory, monitor stock levels, and ensure departmental budget compliance.

  • Design, organize, and participate in themed events, special occasions, or seminars.

  • Train, mentor, and motivate team members, supporting their professional development.

  • Ensure compliance with Club Med hygiene, safety, and HACCP standards at all times.

  • Create engaging guest experiences through personal interactions and attention to presentation and service.

  • Contribute to a fun, inclusive, and multicultural work environment, embracing the Club Med Spirit.


Requirements

  • Technical College Diploma in Hospitality – Food & Beverage or equivalent.

  • Certified knowledge and mastery of pastry techniques, including French and international styles.

  • At least 2 years of experience in pastry or bakery within a professional hospitality environment.

  • Strong organizational, creative, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a team, lead staff, and maintain a high standard of service under pressure.

  • Rigorous attention to hygiene, safety, and quality standards.

  • Passionate, service-oriented, and motivated to grow professionally.
