Job Overview
The Payroll and HR Officer will play a critical role in managing multi-country payroll operations and HR administration across CFM’s global entities.
This position focuses on ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll execution through a global service provider, while supporting broader HR operations, data management, compliance, and employee experience initiatives.
The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing complex, multi-jurisdictional payroll environments.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll & Remuneration Administration

Manage monthly payroll across multiple entities, countries, and currencies

Validate and submit payroll data to global payroll providers

Perform payroll reconciliations and statutory submissions

Support remuneration cycles including salary reviews and incentives

Partner with Finance on payroll journals and reporting

Handle payroll processes for expatriates, secondees, and visa-based employees

Ensure compliance with Employment Equity and audit requirements
HR Operations & Administration

Maintain accurate employee records and documentation
-
Prepare contracts, amendments, and employment-related documentation
-
Coordinate onboarding and offboarding across global offices
-
Track probation periods, renewals, and employee lifecycle changes
HR Systems, Data & Reporting

Maintain HRIS data integrity and accuracy
-
Generate HR reports (headcount, diversity, turnover, leave trends)
-
Support executive and board-level reporting requirements
-
Assist with employee surveys and analytics
Compliance & Governance

Ensure compliance with labour laws across multiple jurisdictions
-
Maintain policy records and document control
-
Track statutory deadlines (visas, contracts, reviews)

Support internal and external audits
Recruitment & Talent Administration

Coordinate interviews across time zones
-
Prepare offer letters and recruitment documentation

Maintain recruitment pipelines and reporting dashboards
Employee Experience & Communication

Act as a first point of contact for HR queries

Draft internal HR communications and updates
-
Support employee engagement and wellbeing initiatives
Continuous Improvement

Identify and implement process improvements in payroll and HR

Maintain HR standard operating procedures

Support broader HR projects and strategic initiatives
Qualifications
Education
-
Degree in Human Resources, Finance, or Accounting

Postgraduate qualification (advantageous)
Experience
-
Minimum 5+ years’ experience in payroll and HR operations
-
Proven experience managing multi-country, multi-currency payroll
-
Experience in investment management or financial services preferred

Exposure to expatriate and global workforce payroll processes
Skills

Advanced Excel and HRIS/payroll systems expertise

Strong knowledge of tax, labour legislation, and compliance frameworks

High attention to detail and analytical capability

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Ability to work across global teams and time zones
