Your Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll Expert to oversee payroll operations in West Africa. In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure accurate and timely payroll execution, maintain compliance with local regulations, and collaborate cross-functionally to optimize processes. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with Deel’s proprietary payroll software and support expansion across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute accurate and timely payroll processes across West Africa and other assigned regions.

  • Ensure compliance with local tax authorities and payroll regulations.

  • Prepare and reconcile internal payroll reports.

  • Manage local payroll and HR processes, including onboarding and offboarding employees, and processing involuntary deductions.

  • Oversee collections and reconciliations of payroll expenses.

  • Assess and refine payroll processes to support Deel’s rapid growth.

  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and communicate key updates internally.

  • Provide expert guidance on local payroll and HR matters.

  • Respond to complex payroll and HR queries from clients and employees.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field.

  • Fluency in both French and English.

  • 4+ years of experience in payroll and HR within West Africa.

  • Strong knowledge of local payroll and HR regulations.

  • Experience with local payroll software; advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Experience with multiple country jurisdictions and payroll technologies is a plus.
