Role Overview:
As a Payroll Implementation Manager at Deel, you will lead the successful implementation of global payroll systems for clients, working closely with internal teams and clients to ensure smooth payroll onboarding processes. The role requires strong project management skills, a deep understanding of payroll processes, and the ability to guide clients through the entire payroll system setup and implementation.
What You’ll Do:
🔧 Project Set-Up & Management
- Organize and run kickoff meetings with clients and the onboarding team to set up and deliver global payroll implementations.
- Maintain and manage detailed project plans to ensure successful payroll system rollouts across multiple countries.
- Independently manage several projects at once, adjusting timelines and scope as needed.
📑 Client and Project Coordination
- Support and manage project review calls with internal and external stakeholders, tracking project streams and timelines.
- Ensure all client-specific payroll processes and data requirements are defined and set up correctly.
📝 Documentation & Reporting
- Keep detailed documentation of project plans, status reports, and all payroll processes.
- Oversee the go-live transition, ensuring all client needs are validated and confirmed.
📊 Payroll Systems Configuration
- Work with clients to define, configure, and set up payroll processes and data interfaces for parallel and live payroll periods.
- Manage data migration from legacy payroll systems to Deel’s global payroll platform.
🔄 Testing & Change Management
- Develop and execute a comprehensive testing plan to ensure all systems function properly before going live.
- Implement change management strategies to support clients and employees during the transition to the new payroll system.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage global payroll system implementations, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all payroll project-related matters.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to gather key payroll requirements, both global and local.
- Ensure compliance with local and international tax and labor laws.
- Oversee data migration and ensure accurate payroll data is transferred securely.
Key Qualifications:
🎓 Education
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
💼 Experience
- 2+ years of experience in global payroll implementation.
- 4+ years of experience in running payroll for specific countries.
🖥️ Technical Skills
- Familiarity with payroll systems and software.
- Experience with payroll data migration, system configuration, and testing processes.
🗣️ Project Management Skills
- Experience managing projects independently, especially in a client-facing environment.
- Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
💬 Communication & Collaboration
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, particularly when dealing with complex technical issues.
- Ability to problem-solve and handle challenges under tight deadlines.
