We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Payroll Partner to join our team and support the administration of our payroll and benefits functions.
Role Overview:
As a Payroll Partner at Mukuru, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing all payroll activities for the company. This includes administering the payroll system, ensuring accurate processing, compiling necessary reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant tax and labor laws. The ideal candidate will have strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a diverse team and stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Key Responsibilities:

Payroll and Benefits Administration:

Ensure accurate payroll processing and timely submission of salaries.

Maintain employee records and keep payroll data up to date, including promotions, terminations, and deductions.

Handle benefits administration, including claims for severe illness, death, and new joiners.

Work closely with the finance department to ensure accurate reconciliations and clean audit reviews.

Conduct payroll system checks to ensure smooth functioning.

Reporting and Compliance:

Prepare monthly salary summaries and reports for senior management and auditors.

Submit PAYE reconciliations and tax reporting to SARS and other tax authorities.

Ensure compliance with the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA) and other relevant regulations.

Assist with HRIS updates and collaborate with the finance team for system improvements.

Stakeholder Management:

Liaise with external stakeholders, such as tax authorities and benefits providers.

Manage queries related to leave, payroll, and benefits from staff and resolve them promptly.

Ensure accurate reporting to the Chief People Officer and other senior leaders in the company.

Team Management (If Applicable):

Oversee payroll personnel, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.

Conduct regular performance reviews and provide guidance to ensure high performance and development.

Essential Requirements:

Education:
-
Grade 12 or equivalent (Essential)
-
B.Com degree in Human Resource Management (Payroll) or relevant NQF qualification.

Knowledge and Skills:
-
Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.

Advanced knowledge of payroll systems, preferably PaySpace.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently.

Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.

Experience in tax reporting, specifically PAYE, and compliance with labor laws.
