Job Overview
The Payroll: Reconciliation Clerk will support the HR and Payroll team by ensuring accurate financial reconciliations, payroll processing, and reporting.
This role is ideal for detail-oriented finance professionals who enjoy working with numbers and ensuring accuracy in payroll-related financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for payroll accounts
- Reconcile intercompany loans and payroll accounts across countries
- Resolve outstanding queries and process journal corrections
- Prepare and upload monthly journals
- Maintain trial balance reconciliation checklist
- Process SAP payments and payroll-related invoices
- Upload and process salary payments
- Perform third-party reconciliations and ensure timely payments
- Run overpayment reports and manage discrepancies
- Handle monthly and bi-monthly payroll submissions (RSA & neighbouring countries)
- Manage leave reconciliations and queries
- Perform general payroll administration duties
Qualifications
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Diploma or Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in finance administration
- Strong experience in reconciliations
- Experience working across multiple business units
- Preferred: 3+ years reconciliation experience
Skills
- Strong understanding of general ledger and accounting principles
- Knowledge of debits, credits, journals, and reconciliations
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical and numerical ability
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
