What You’ll Do in This Role:

As a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the pharmacist in the daily operations of the dispensary, ensuring a smooth, compliant, and customer-centric environment. Your role will involve:

• Dispensing medication accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist

• Managing stock control and ensuring that inventory is properly recorded, stored, and maintained

• Carrying out pharmacy-related administrative duties, including filing and updating patient records

• Assisting with front shop services and helping customers with general health product inquiries

• Ensuring high standards of cleanliness and organization in the dispensary and shop area

Minimum Requirements:

• Qualification: Certified and qualified as a Post-Basic Pharmacist Assistant

• Registration: Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a retail or community pharmacy setting

Skills & Competencies:

Essential:

• Good understanding of dispensing systems and medication handling procedures

• Strong customer service orientation with excellent communication skills

• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and compliance

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment

Desirable:

• Knowledge of retail operations and front shop service

• Familiarity with FMCG processes and stock replenishment systems
