π Role Overview
As a Pharmacist at Mediclinic Limpopo, you will ensure the provision of safe, efficient, and professional pharmaceutical services for the hospital and its patients. This role combines clinical expertise, leadership, and operational management to optimize patient care and pharmacy operations.
π§ Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the pharmacy team, providing supervision, training, and mentorship.

Manage pharmaceutical stock, including own, loan, and consignment inventory, ensuring accuracy and timely replenishment.

Identify and mitigate departmental risks while maintaining regulatory compliance.

Manage and control departmental budgets and finances.
-
Deliver safe and efficient pharmaceutical services, including outpatient pharmacy operations.

Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient care.

Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and standard operating practices.

Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement projects, and antimicrobial stewardship programs.

Support the professional development of junior pharmacists, interns, and pharmacy assistants.
π Minimum Qualifications & Experience

B Pharm or BSc Pharm degree.
-
Registered with the HPCSA.
-
Minimum 3 yearsβ experience in a community or hospital pharmacy.

Desirable: 3β5 years of supervisory or managerial experience in an institutional/hospital pharmacy.

Experience in budget management, staff development, and operational planning is advantageous.

Strong knowledge of pharmacy and healthcare industry practices.

Experience with risk management processes and clinical pharmacy services.

Understanding of pharmacy legislation (Pharmacy Act, Good Pharmacy Practice, Medicine Control Act 101 of 1965).

Knowledge of antimicrobial stewardship, pharmacy stock management, and ethical/surgical products.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy management systems.

Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
