Purpose of the Role
As a Phlebotomist, your main responsibility is to ensure the accurate and safe collection of specimens required for pathology testing, while providing excellent customer service and maintaining the ethical standards of the profession.
Key Responsibilities

Perform phlebotomy procedures including blood draws and non-blood specimen collection with care and precision.

Deliver a high standard of customer service, ensuring patients are comfortable and well-informed throughout the process.

Manage administrative tasks related to specimen labeling, data capture, and patient information to ensure accuracy.

Handle cash flow and payments for services rendered at the care centre.

Ensure all processes meet quality and safety standards, including infection control and equipment hygiene.

Promote and maintain positive client relations to uphold the professional image of Ampath.
Required Qualifications & Skills

Relevant Phlebotomy or Nursing qualification (Required)

Registered with HPCSA or SANC (Required)

Valid South African driver’s license (Required)

Must have South African ID or valid work permit
Required Experience
-
Prior experience working as a Phlebotomist or in a similar role within a hospital or pathology environment.
