About the Plumbing Apprenticeship Programme

The TLMA Plumbing Apprenticeship is a comprehensive work-integrated learning programme aimed at developing competent and qualified plumbers. The programme combines classroom-based theoretical instruction with hands-on workplace experience under the supervision of qualified artisans.

Apprentices will gain exposure to municipal infrastructure environments, safety standards, and real-world plumbing systems used within the City of Tshwane. Upon successful completion, participants will be well positioned to pursue artisan trade testing and long-term career opportunities within the built environment sector.


Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in structured plumbing training and workplace rotations

  • Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems

  • Learn to interpret technical drawings and specifications

  • Comply with occupational health and safety regulations at all times

  • Complete theoretical assessments and practical tasks as required

  • Demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and commitment throughout the programme


Minimum Requirements

  • Technical Matric, NCV Level 4, or N2 Certificate

  • Mathematics and Physical Science passed

  • Relevant plumbing trade theory subjects

  • Strong interest in becoming a qualified artisan

  • Willingness to commit to the full duration of the apprenticeship
