This critical role involves overseeing the management of bus routes, schedules, and locations, ensuring buses adhere to their timetables, minimizing delays, and prioritizing passenger safety. Key Responsibilities:

🚌 Route Management:

  • Monitor and manage bus schedules, ensuring buses follow correct routes and adhere to timetables.

  • Ensure optimal bus allocation to prevent delays and maintain timely services.

📞 Real-Time Communication:

  • Serve as the point of contact for bus drivers, relaying information about route changes, delays, and traffic updates.

  • Provide drivers with real-time assistance to ensure smooth operations.

⚙️ Problem Resolution:

  • Act quickly to resolve any disruptions, including delays, vehicle breakdowns, or diversions.

  • Collaborate with the operations team to implement contingency measures and minimize service disruptions.

📊 Coordination and Reporting:

  • Work closely with the operations team to manage resources, especially during peak travel times.

  • Maintain accurate records of bus operations, including incidents, delays, and schedule deviations.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure all buses and drivers comply with relevant safety standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Enforce operational guidelines to guarantee a safe and secure transport environment.

💬 Customer Service:

  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding bus schedules, routes, and service disruptions.

  • Maintain professionalism while handling passenger concerns and inquiries.

Minimum Requirements:

🎓 Education:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent (NQF Level 4).

💼 Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within the transport or logistics industry.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong Communication: Ability to relay important information clearly and quickly to drivers, operations staff, and passengers.

  • Problem-Solving: Respond effectively to issues as they arise to maintain bus schedule integrity.

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
