Role Overview:
We are seeking a Civil Design Modeller to join our growing team within our Global Design Centre (GDC). The successful candidate will support a key Australian client and will be responsible for civil design modelling and drafting of water infrastructure projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated professional to develop their career in a dynamic, future-focused engineering environment.
As a Civil Design Modeller, you will be primarily working with Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD to create 3D civil engineering models, including surfaces, corridors, and pipeline networks. You will also be responsible for producing high-quality engineering drawings for water infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
✔ Drafting & Drawing Production:
- Produce civil engineering drawings and 3D models for water infrastructure projects.
- Ensure that all project drafting outputs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
✔ 3D Modelling & Digital Design:
- Develop and maintain accurate 3D civil engineering models using Autodesk Civil 3D and InfraWorks.
- Ensure correct integration of different engineering disciplines (civil, structural, mechanical, etc.) into the digital model.
✔ Quality Assurance:
- Uphold drafting and modelling standards, including templates, text styles, and layer conventions.
- Check and review models and drawings for quality before they are issued.
✔ Collaboration & Digital Management:
- Collaborate closely with the Digital Delivery Leads and Managers.
- Follow best practices for digital model management, ensuring project alignment with industry standards.
✔ Continuous Learning:
- Keep up to date with the latest trends in 3D modelling technology and engineering software.
- Strive for continuous improvement by learning new techniques and tools.
Minimum Requirements:
✔ Qualification:
- A relevant qualification in Modelling, Draughting, or Civil Engineering.
✔ Experience:
- At least 5 years of experience as a Civil Engineering Draughtsperson within the civil, mining, industrial, or structural engineering fields.
✔ Software Proficiency:
- Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D (version 2020 or later).
- Experience with BIM360/ACC and ProjectWise.
✔ Competency Test:
- Must pass a software and skills competency test during the interview process.
Advantageous Experience:
✔ Autodesk Civil 3D Certification:
- Certification in Autodesk Civil 3D would be an advantage.
✔ Additional 3D Modelling Software:
- Experience with Bentley MicroStation V8i (2D & 3D) or Autodesk Revit would be beneficial.
✔ Water Infrastructure Knowledge:
- Prior experience in drafting/designing civil infrastructure such as roads, bulk earthworks, stormwater, water pipelines, and sewer pipelines.
