JOB OVERVIEW
The Public Relations, Media and Communications Intern will support DAG’s advocacy and communication initiatives. This role offers practical, hands-on experience in media relations, content production, digital communications, and stakeholder engagement. The position is ideal for graduates who want to develop their skills in nonprofit communications and public relations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist project teams in supporting DAG’s advocacy and lobbying agenda.

Develop, shape, and manage DAG’s communications, including social media, website, newsletters, and annual reports.

Produce compelling content for multiple audiences, including press statements, advocacy materials, stories about DAG’s work, and digital communications.

Build and strengthen media relations by engaging with journalists and news agencies.

Manage DAG’s social media channels and enhance its digital presence, increasing audience engagement and reach.

Repackage program and research materials for communication purposes in innovative ways.

Track and analyse engagement metrics across platforms to inform future communication strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
-
Relevant University Degree or Diploma in Communications, Media Studies, Marketing, Journalism, Development Studies, or related fields
Experience & Skills
-
Practical experience in social media, content creation, and digital marketing tools

Experience in writing, editing, and research
-
Basic knowledge of advocacy, social justice, housing, and urban development is advantageous

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, WordPress, Canva, Photoshop, Mailchimp, Loomly, Adobe Pro

Beginner-level video editing skills

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills

Excellent verbal and written communication in English

Ability to work independently and collaboratively
