The Department of Employment and Labour is seeking a highly skilled and professionally registered Principal Psychologist to lead and supervise psychological and career-related services within the Mpumalanga Province. This senior position plays a critical role in strengthening employment counselling services, ensuring quality assessments, and guiding career counsellors across Labour Centres.

📝 Minimum Requirements
✔ Master’s Degree in Psychology
✔ Registration with HPCSA as a Psychologist (Counselling or Industrial)
✔ At least 3 years of relevant experience after registration

🔧 Key Duties & Responsibilities
As the Principal Psychologist, you will:
🎯 Lead Employment Counselling Services

Oversee the delivery of professional counselling to workers entering or re-entering the labour market.

Provide expert guidance and resolve complex client matters.

Manage and quality-check psychological assessments conducted for work-seekers.

Ensure tools, procedures, and reports align with professional and departmental standards.
👥 Support Labour Centres Province-Wide

Supervise counsellors across multiple centres.

Oversee self-help career counselling initiatives.
🗂 Record-Keeping & Professional Compliance

Ensure all counselling and assessment records meet legal and ethical standards.
🧭 Provide Counselling to Referred Clients

Deliver high-level psychological interventions when required.
