📝 Job Overview

The Process Controller Assistant will support water treatment operations by maintaining plant cleanliness, assisting with operational processes, and reporting unsafe conditions. This role contributes directly to safe, efficient water purification and compliance with operational and environmental standards. On-the-job training is provided to support skill development within water treatment operations.

📋 Key Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across engine rooms, control rooms, battery rooms, toilets, and switchgear areas

• Clean assigned plant sections according to operational schedules

• Report unsafe acts, working conditions, or operational abnormalities to the shift supervisor

• Assist Process Controllers with loading and offloading pumps

• Open and close suction and delivery valves as required

• Take water samples for operational testing

• Perform manual operation of pipeline isolating valves

• Assist with unloading chlorine drums and ammonia

• Support general plant operations and related cleaning duties

🎓 Qualifications

Education

• Grade 12 or equivalent (N3 Certificate)

Experience

• At least 1 year of cleaning experience (advantageous)

• Exposure to water treatment or purification environments (advantageous)

• Water Treatment Learnership (advantageous for Blue Drop compliance)

Skills

• Good communication skills

• Basic numeracy skills

• Ability to follow operational instructions accurately
