🌍 About the Opportunity

Are you a technically skilled process engineer with a passion for precision and innovation? ALPLA Packaging SA (Pty) Ltd, a global leader in sustainable packaging solutions, is looking for a Process Engineer specializing in Injection Moulding – PET Preforms to join our dynamic team at our Lanseria plant.

In this pivotal role, you’ll ensure that all injection moulding operations are running efficiently, producing top-quality PET preforms, while implementing continuous improvements in performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

🔧 Key Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all PET injection moulding machines.

• Maintain top product quality by optimizing moulding processes and identifying continuous improvement opportunities.

• Conduct material inspections to ensure defect-free raw materials before production.

• Perform minor repairs and troubleshoot moulding machinery and material issues.

• Collaborate with Production and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth plant operations.

• Support training programs for Machine Operators in partnership with Process Technicians.

• Participate in tool design reviews and offer recommendations for setup and productivity improvements.

• Apply methodologies like Six Sigma and design of experiments to optimize manufacturing processes.

• Coordinate closely with quality control to approve first-off products and uphold product standards.

• Maintain high housekeeping standards across the production area.

🧠 Qualifications & Skills

• Technical qualification in plastics processing (PET experience preferred).

• 2+ years’ hands-on experience in plastics/injection moulding manufacturing.

• Mechanical or Electrical/Electronic systems knowledge advantageous.

• Strong leadership skills with a positive team spirit.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.

• Capability to train technical and non-technical staff.

• Time management and task prioritization with minimal supervision.

• Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

• Forklift and crane operation capabilities.

• Excellent communication in English and local language (read/write).

• Flexibility for shift and schedule changes.
