🚀 About the Role

ALPLA, a global leader in plastic packaging solutions, is seeking a Process Engineer ISBM to join its dynamic team based in Johannesburg. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality production of Injection Stretch Blow Moulding (ISBM) processes within a modern, global production environment.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all ISBM machines run efficiently, safely, and according to operational guidelines.

• Maintain high standards of product quality by continuously optimizing processes.

• Oversee raw material quality and availability before initiating production runs.

• Support and troubleshoot machinery performance and production-related issues.

• Collaborate with the Production Manager and Process Technicians to train and develop Machine Operators.

• Actively participate in Tool Design Reviews and suggest manufacturing process improvements.

• Implement Six Sigma, statistical methods, and design of experiments to reduce costs and enhance product quality.

• Conduct root-cause analyses and implement long-term corrective actions.

• Maintain impeccable housekeeping and ensure compliance with health and food safety standards.

• Operate auxiliary equipment and handle routine machine changeovers and maintenance.

• Lead and foster a positive team environment while ensuring clear communication with stakeholders.

✅ What You Need to Succeed

• A Technical Qualification with at least 5 years of plastics processing experience.

• Deep understanding of ISBM machine operations and associated auxiliary equipment.

• Background in Toolmaking, Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic systems is advantageous.

• Proven leadership skills and the ability to cultivate a productive team culture.

• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.

• Experience in operator training and development.

• Strong command of written and verbal communication in English and the local language.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Access).

• Forklift and crane operation capabilities.

• Willingness to work flexible hours when required.

• High standards for cleanliness, safety, and professional conduct.
