Job Overview

The Professional Nurse will deliver safe, comprehensive, and high-quality nursing care in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. This role also involves leading and coordinating nursing teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes, maintaining accurate records, and supporting a positive patient experience.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team
  • Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety
  • Create a positive and supportive patient care environment
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive nursing records
  • Lead and coordinate nursing team activities
  • Support staff development and create a learning environment
  • Ensure accurate use and recording of stock and equipment
  • Adhere to all clinical standards, procedures, and healthcare regulations

Qualifications

Education

  • Diploma leading to registration as a General Nurse OR
  • 4-year Nursing Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing
  • Preferred:
    • Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Midwifery
    • Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (e.g., Critical Care, Emergency Care, Peri-operative Nursing)

Experience

  • No minimum experience required

Skills

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) training (ACLS/ATLS/PALS advantageous for specialized wards)
  • Strong patient assessment and care planning skills
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control
  • Understanding of pharmacology and nursing procedures
  • Nursing record-keeping and documentation skills
  • Knowledge of nursing legislation and standards
  • Computer literacy (MS Office)
  • Risk identification and management
