🎯 Role Overview

The Professional Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care according to scope of practice regulations, ensuring patient safety, accurate record keeping, and quality service. The nurse will lead and coordinate teams to enable optimal patient outcomes.


🛠️ Key Responsibilities

🏥 Clinical & Patient Care

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team.

  • Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety.

  • Conduct accurate patient assessments and maintain detailed records.

  • Ensure proper infection prevention and control practices.

  • Develop and modify nursing care plans tailored to patient needs.

🤝 Patient Experience & Team Leadership

  • Facilitate a positive client experience through a professional and caring environment.

  • Create a learning environment to enhance staff competence and development.

  • Lead and coordinate nursing teams to achieve optimal patient care outcomes.

📦 Administration & Stock Management

  • Accurately chart all utilized stock and equipment.

  • Maintain comprehensive nursing documentation according to hospital protocols.


📘 Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Diploma leading to registration as a General Nurse OR

  • 4-year Nursing Diploma or Bachelor of Nursing

Desired:

  • Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Midwifery

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (e.g., Critical Care, Emergency Care, Peri-operative Nursing) for specialized units

Experience

  • Essential: None (suitable for newly qualified nurses)

  • Desired: N/A

Skills & Knowledge

  • Basic life support trained (ACLS, ATLS, PALS for specialized wards)

  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)

  • Knowledge of nursing processes, pharmacology, risk identification, and relevant legislation

  • Ability to maintain accurate nursing records and ensure infection control compliance
