π©Ί Role Overview
The Professional Nurse will play a key role in providing safe, holistic, and quality nursing care in line with professional regulations and Mediclinic standards. This role includes leadership, clinical decision-making, and coordination of nursing teams to promote optimal patient outcomes.

β Key Responsibilities

Deliver professional and evidence-based nursing care within a collaborative team.

Identify, prevent, and respond to clinical risks and ensure a safe patient environment.

Facilitate positive patient experiences by creating an empathetic and supportive atmosphere.

Maintain thorough, accurate documentation of all nursing interventions and care plans.

Support knowledge-sharing by fostering a continuous learning environment.

Accurately manage stock usage, medication administration, and equipment tracking.

Lead, guide, and support junior staff within the unit or department.
π Minimum Education Requirements

Essential:
βͺ Diploma in General Nursing (SANC registered)
βͺ OR a 4-year Bachelor of Nursing degree -
Desirable:
βͺ Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Midwifery
βͺ Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing (e.g., ICU, Emergency, Theatre Nursing) if placed in a specialised ward
π§ͺ Work Experience

Essential Minimum: None (open to newly qualified professional nurses)

Desirable: Experience in specialised units will be advantageous
π οΈ Core Skills and Knowledge Required

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Paediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) for specialised units

Sound understanding of scientific nursing principles and evidence-based practice

Risk identification and infection control knowledge

Accurate nursing record keeping and care planning

Competency in pharmacology and medication safety

Patient assessment and emergency response skills

Professional ethics and current nursing legislation compliance

Proficient in Microsoft Office and hospital information systems
