Main Purpose of the Job

The primary objective is to provide safe, high-quality nursing care that meets the needs of patients while working collaboratively with the healthcare team. Your role is essential in ensuring patient safety, effective care coordination, and the overall positive patient experience.

Key Responsibilities

✔️ Quality Patient Care:
   • Deliver safe, comprehensive, and quality nursing care in line with established protocols.
   • Collaborate with a multi-professional team to enhance patient outcomes.

✔️ Risk Management:
   • Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety and care continuity.

✔️ Patient Experience:
   • Foster a positive and supportive environment that enhances patient comfort and satisfaction.

✔️ Documentation:
   • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions and patient care activities.

✔️ Staff Development:
   • Create a learning environment that promotes staff competence and continuous improvement.

✔️ Resource Management:
   • Ensure accurate charging for all utilised stock and equipment.

Required Education & Experience

✔️ Essential Education:
   • Degree/Diploma in General Nursing

✔️ Desired Education:
   • Midwifery qualification
   • Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in a relevant specialty area

✔️ Experience:
   • No essential minimum experience required
   • Preference for candidates with at least 1 year of post-graduate experience in a specialised unit

Required Skills & Knowledge

✔️ Clinical Competencies:
   • Basic Life Support (BLS) and advanced training (ACLS, ATLS, PALS for specialised wards)
   • Proficient in developing and modifying nursing care plans
   • Strong patient assessment and record-keeping skills
   • In-depth knowledge of infection prevention and control, relevant nursing legislation, and scientific nursing principles

✔️ Technical Skills:
   • Computer literate (Microsoft Office)

✔️ Personal Attributes:
   • Strong attention to detail
   • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
   • Ability to work effectively under pressure and within a team
