💼 Role Overview: Protection Officer Specialised

As a Protection Officer Specialised, you’ll supervise a team of Patrolpersons and Senior Patrolpersons to ensure the safety of people, property, and critical infrastructure at our Mototolo Complex. This role focuses on law-compliant protection operations, investigations, emergency responses, and monitoring of high-risk areas.

🔐 Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor security personnel to ensure top-tier operational execution

• Oversee patrols and inspection of property, equipment, and critical areas

• Investigate internal and external crimes and procedural violations

• Ensure compliance with CIA procedures, safety regulations, and legal standards

• Maintain, distribute, and manage security equipment and firearms

• Assist during workplace emergencies, injuries, and high-risk incidents

• Conduct monthly audits, inventory checks, and compile security reports

• Collaborate with SAPS and Protection Services specialists for coordinated action

• Prepare and present investigative evidence for disciplinary hearings or court

✅ Qualifications & Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12)

• Certificate in Investigation, Security, Policing or Law (Recognition of Prior Learning accepted)

• PSIRA Registration – Grade B

• Firearm competency, Tactical Unit Standard, Armed Response Certification

• Valid driver’s license

📊 Experience & Competencies

• Minimum 4 years’ experience in security or equivalent field

• 2 years in investigations/intelligence/logistics/surveillance

• 2 years in a supervisory role

• Familiar with CCTV surveillance and control room operations

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal (English)

• Capable of managing emergency situations and responding to violent crimes

• Basic computer literacy and report writing abilities

• Skilled in handling and protecting crime scenes and presenting evidence
