Metso is a global leader in sustainable mineral processing and mining solutions, and we are seeking a Pumps Services Technical Support specialist to join our Pumps business line. This role will involve providing expert advisory services and support for Metso’s slurry pumps, hydrocyclones, and related equipment to our distribution partners, local teams, and end users across Africa. You’ll be part of a global team focused on delivering top-tier technical support to clients within the mining and aggregates industries.

What You Will Do:
🔧 Provide Expert Technical Support:
- Offer both remote and in-person advisory services to local teams, distributors, and clients on pump failures, poor performance, warranty issues, repairs, commissioning, and start-up.
- Provide detailed technical reports with analysis and recommendations.
🔄 Coordinate Activities:
- Collaborate with the engineering team and Product Management to address customer issues.
- Coordinate activities with the factory to resolve warranty claims and complex technical problems.
📚 Training and Documentation:
- Develop and deliver field services training on slurry pumps, hydrocyclones, and related equipment, both virtually and in-person.
- Maintain formal documents, such as checklists and work procedures, to ensure consistency in commissioning, performance checks, and troubleshooting.
🌍 Travel:
- This position requires 50% or more travel to Metso offices and customer sites throughout Africa.
Your Team:
You will report directly to the Technical Support and Warranty Manager for the CNSPUM Services team and collaborate with engineers, R&D teams, and factory staff. This role requires excellent coordination with both internal and external stakeholders, including clients and site staff.
What You Bring:
📜 Qualifications:
- Higher National Diploma, B Tech, or BSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
💼 Experience:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience with the selection/sizing, assembly, operation, or maintenance of centrifugal pumps.
- 2+ years of experience with customer interaction in field service or technical support for industrial equipment.
🖥️ Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficient in MS Office and computer literacy.
