About the Role
As the Purchase Supervisor, you’ll report directly to the Supply Chain Manager – India & Africa Region and take ownership of both finished goods planning and direct/indirect procurement for the South African market. Your role is central to ensuring efficient, compliant, and cost-effective operations across sourcing, inventory, and vendor management.

Key Responsibilities
Procurement Operations

Ensure timely procurement and delivery of Finished Goods (FG) aligned with demand plans and sales orders.

Work closely with global sourcing and S&OP teams to coordinate centrally purchased items.

Oversee compliance with customs, excise, and import regulations.

Handle vendor relationships, purchase invoices, payment processing, and documentation.

Maintain procurement records and reports (e.g., Open PO reports, EXIM compliance).

Resolve supply and quality-related issues through effective supplier engagement.
Planning & Inventory Management

Develop procurement plans based on safety stock, MTO/MTS strategies, and delivery targets.

Track order progression from creation to dispatch, ensuring SLA adherence.

Utilize MRP systems to manage inventory levels and meet Days on Hand (DOH) targets.

Address slow-moving or obsolete stock to mitigate financial risk.

Drive Inventory and SIFOT (Shipped In-Full On-Time) targets using planning best practices.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance

Work closely with internal stakeholders: Customer Service, Warehouse, Finance, Sales, and Intercompany teams.

Maintain ISO documentation relevant to the purchasing function.

Participate in training for continuous improvement and professional growth.
Minimum Requirements

5–8 years of experience in procurement, S&OP, customer service, or related supply chain functions.

Strong understanding of production planning, purchasing processes, and inventory management.

Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Excellent interpersonal skills: teamwork, reliability, problem-solving, and time management.

Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize tasks, and communicate effectively across teams.
