🎯 Role Overview

The Quality Engineer will support the Pinetown factory’s Quality Department by providing hands-on quality assurance, system support, compliance insights, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who has begun their journey in quality assurance and is looking to expand expertise in a dynamic production environment.

You will provide key insights to production teams, deliver training, ensure adherence to quality standards, and contribute to improving factory performance through data-driven quality activities.

🛠️ Responsibilities

• Perform product quality tests using all relevant test methods

• Handle customer claims and manage customer-related KPIs/KAI indicators

• Take ownership of the Total Waste KPI, driving continuous improvement initiatives

• Manage base material quality issues to ensure zero impact on factory waste

• Support internal and external audit communication and preparation

• Maintain and enhance the factory’s quality system

• Provide training, instructions, and quality updates to production teams

• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance with company standards

• Assist in problem-solving activities linked to quality deviations

• Drive corrective and preventive action implementation

• Support WCM quality pillars and improvement plans

🎓 Minimum Requirements

• 3–5 years’ experience in Quality Assurance or a related field

• Knowledge of WCM techniques

• Familiarity with ISO9001, ISO14001, BRC, ISO22000, OHSAS18001

• SPC, TQM, or related quality methodologies (advantageous)

• Understanding of production/manufacturing processes

• Strong MS Office and SAP proficiency

• Excellent communication and coordination skills

• Structured, open-minded, and detail-oriented

• Self-motivated with strong ownership of learning and development

• Ability to multitask and collaborate within cross-functional teams

• Technically curious, resilient, and goal-driven
