About the Role:
Goldwind is seeking a Quality Engineer to join their team in Johannesburg, South Africa. In this position, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful implementation of quality standards in wind farm projects. You will work closely with the region Quality Manager and the QHSE Manager to ensure compliance with local and international quality regulations.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the renewable energy sector and make an impact in the wind power industry, with a focus on maintaining high-quality standards in every phase of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Quality Engineer, your duties will include:
- π Support Quality Manager: Assist in localizing quality procedures and specifications according to customer and Goldwind requirements, and South African quality regulations.
- π Quality Assurance Plans: Develop and maintain Quality Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) specific to wind farm projects.
- π οΈ Conduct Inspections: Organize and carry out quality inspections at various project phases. Draft inspection reports, ensuring all activities are documented.
- π Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs): Draft NCRs, register them in FEMS or other apps, and compile site information. Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for NCRs and prepare detailed reports.
- π¬ Quality Communication: Participate in quality meetings at regional and global levels. Provide updates and share insights from quality campaigns.
- π Monitor Compliance: Assist the Quality Manager in conducting routine inspections to verify compliance with project standards and ISO requirements.
- ποΈ Maintain Quality Records: Ensure the accurate and complete management of inspection reports, corrective action reports, and other quality-related documentation.
- β Support ISO Audit: Assist in preparations for ISO audits and provide guidance to QC personnel on projects to ensure compliance.
Required Qualifications:
- π National Diploma or Bachelor’s in Engineering (preferably in Electrical Engineering).
- π οΈ Experience: Between 5 to 10 years in a quality engineering or quality assurance role, with experience in the renewable energy or wind farm industry preferred.
- π Knowledge of quality risk analysis and experience in creating and maintaining inspection plans.
- π Proven ability to carry out root cause analysis, draft reports, and effectively communicate quality findings.
- π Ability to ensure compliance with South African and international quality standards.
