Job Overview

The Quantitative Analyst Intern will support the Capital Management team within Balance Sheet Management by contributing to capital planning, modelling, and analytical activities. This internship offers hands-on exposure to regulatory capital frameworks, capital optimisation, and quantitative analysis in a complex financial services environment.

This role is ideal for graduates with strong quantitative skills who are interested in capital management, financial optimisation, and risk-adjusted performance analysis.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Group Capital Plan

  • Assist with capital projections, modelling, and quantification of regulatory impacts

  • Analyse capital strength, attribution, and returns to support efficient capital allocation

  • Identify opportunities to optimise the Group’s capital structure in line with Prudential Authority requirements

  • Monitor and report on financial hurdle rates, capital performance measures, and targets

  • Prepare analytical inputs for capital management reporting, including annual reports and presentations

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to share insights and support informed capital decisions

  • Contribute to ongoing refinement of capital management frameworks and methodologies


Qualifications

Education

  • BSc (Honours) in Actuarial Science, Mathematical Statistics, or Financial Engineering

Experience

  • No prior work experience required

Skills

  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and critical-thinking capability

  • Understanding of capital regimes for financial institutions and insurers

  • Knowledge of insurance business, capital requirements, and risk management principles

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • High attention to detail and data accuracy

  • Clear verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
