Job Overview
The President Hotel is seeking a professional and guest-focused Hotel Receptionist to join its front office team. This role is crucial in creating a strong first impression for guests, ensuring smooth check-in and check-out processes, and delivering consistent, high-quality service. The ideal candidate will have experience in a busy hotel environment and proficiency in Opera PMS.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and provide a warm, professional first impression
- Manage check-ins, check-outs, and billing procedures efficiently
- Handle guest enquiries, requests, and complaints effectively
- Manage reservations, emails, and telephone enquiries
- Capture guest information accurately using Opera PMS
- Coordinate with housekeeping, porters, and other departments
- Maintain detailed and accurate shift handovers
- Ensure service standards align with the hotel’s luxury positioning
Qualifications
Education
- Matric (Grade 12) or equivalent
Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in hotel reception (large hotel environment)
- Experience in a 4 or 5-star hotel (advantageous)
- Opera PMS experience (essential)
Skills
- Strong guest service and hospitality skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Computer literacy (Opera PMS & MS Office)
