Position Overview: Reconciliations Administrator
As a Reconciliations Administrator at Sanlam Private Wealth, you will support the operations team by managing the reconciliation process for offshore bank accounts and other financial activities. You will be involved in investigating unsettled currency conversion trades, processing cash payments, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues. Your role will also include maintaining accurate records, preparing reports, and participating in process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
🔍 Reconciliation & Issue Resolution
- Investigate unsettled currency conversion trades and resolve discrepancies.
- Process entries to resolve bank reconciliation breaks effectively.
- Communicate issues that may impact trading or client reporting.
- Collaborate with third-party service providers and internal teams to resolve reconciliation breaks.
📊 Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare reports on offshore bank reconciliations for management.
- Respond to queries regarding bank reconciliations from the business.
- Update and maintain process documentation, including SOPs and checklists.
💬 Stakeholder Liaison & Support
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure smooth operations.
- Provide support to team members and assist with ad-hoc tasks as required.
- Participate in business and team improvement initiatives.
📈 Operational Support
- Assist in processing cash payments, fees, and invoices when required.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency of the reconciliation function within the business.
Qualifications & Experience
🎓 Education
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or Economics (Required).
💼 Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience within the financial services industry (Essential).
- Strong background in processing transactions, conducting simple calculations, and managing financial records.
