JOB OVERVIEW

The Regional Supply Chain Assistant supports regional supply chain operations, focusing on efficiency, cost-saving opportunities, and seamless communication between customers and internal teams. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on administrative coordination, project support, and maintaining strong supplier and customer relationships.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Procurement

• Review spend, suppliers, and categories to identify savings, quality improvements, and consolidation opportunities

• Manage regional office spend according to governance and best practices

• Collaborate with regional finance teams to optimize financial impact

• Maintain action and benefits plans with weekly status reporting

• Identify items for national vs. regional supply channels

• Manage supplier relationships and ensure agreed service levels

Logistics

• Support Account Managers and General Managers with regional logistics queries

• Facilitate product availability during trials and new product launches

• Conduct time studies to identify efficiencies in regional operations

• Support regional project implementations

Reporting & Account Administration

• Maintain action and benefits plans with weekly updates

• Compile monthly review packs and stakeholder reports

• Implement administration for updated service level agreements

Project & Key Account Management

• Update project plans, attend meetings, and ensure smooth communication flow

• Conduct store visits and participate in weekly operations planning

• Provide regular reports on service levels and activity performance

• Assist with competitive market research activities

Communication & Relationship Management

• Act as the first point of contact for daily enquiries

• Ensure smooth communication between customers and Vector stakeholders

• Escalate issues to Account Managers when necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Matric

• Relevant tertiary qualification

• Valid Code EB driver’s licence

Experience

• Minimum 3 years in account administration or FMCG operations

• Experience in supply chain, logistics, or sales support, preferably in FMCG

• Familiarity with 3PL concepts and KPI-driven operations

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Knowledge of logistics and procurement processes

• Financial and business acumen

• Accuracy and attention to detail in reporting and system administration

• Solutions-driven and proactive mindset
