🩺 Position Overview

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Lesedi 2 Dialysis Centre in Johannesburg. This role offers a vital opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) by delivering high-quality dialysis care. You’ll operate within an expert clinical team while adhering to best practices and patient safety standards.

🧾 Key Responsibilities

• Admit patients and capture comprehensive medical/surgical history

• Coordinate billing updates in line with unit protocols

• Obtain and implement dialysis prescriptions from physicians

• Prepare dialysis machines and consumables pre-treatment

• Conduct patient weight checks and fluid removal calculations

• Monitor vital signs and administer prescribed medications

• Maintain accurate patient data in Euclid and TDMS

• Ensure infection control, hygiene compliance, and environmental safety

• Educate patients on renal disease, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments

• Perform regular file audits and incident documentation

• Order and manage stock in coordination with the unit manager

• Support emergency response protocols including CPR and resuscitation trolley readiness

• Handle blood products as per doctor’s orders and report any reactions

📘 Required Education & Qualifications

• University Degree or Diploma in Nursing (Registered General Nurse)

• Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)

• Deep understanding of renal anatomy and treatment modalities

• Skilled in aseptic technique, infection control, venepuncture, and CPR

• Ethical, courteous, and compassionate patient care

• High attention to detail in data capturing, assessment, and equipment maintenance

• Adherence to NephroCare and FMC SOPs and legal documentation standards
