Village Health Clubs and Spas is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our clinical team in Bloemfontein. As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients, including the admission process, dialysis procedures, and patient education. Key Responsibilities
As a Registered Nurse, your key duties will include:

Patient Admission & Care:
✔ Admission of patients into acute or chronic treatment centers, including medical history recording.
✔ Obtaining dialysis prescriptions from nephrologists or physicians.
✔ Weighing patients, calculating dry weight, and managing fluid removal during dialysis.
✔ Carrying out procedures according to NephroCare’s Standard Good Dialysis Care protocols. -
Monitoring & Reporting:
✔ Monitoring and recording baseline vital signs.
✔ Administering prescribed medication according to doctor’s orders.
✔ Using the Euclid and TDMS systems for accurate data capturing and reporting. -
Patient Education:
✔ Educating patients on renal disease, treatment options, and dietary restrictions.
✔ Offering guidance on the management of renal disease and available support services. -
Equipment & Hygiene:
✔ Ensuring dialysis machines are disinfected before use.
✔ Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-stocked environment.
✔ Regularly checking the resuscitation trolley and ensuring all equipment is in optimal working condition. -
Compliance & Documentation:
✔ Adhering to hygiene, infection control, and immunization policies.
✔ Keeping accurate records and ensuring all medical incidents are documented to meet legal requirements.
✔ Ensuring compliance with all FMC SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
Qualifications & Experience
✔ Education: University degree or equivalent diploma in Registered General Nursing from a recognized institution.
✔ Registration: Registered with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).
✔ Clinical Skills:
✔ Strong knowledge of renal anatomy and pathophysiology.
✔ Proficient in aseptic techniques, infection control, venepuncture, and vital sign monitoring.
✔ Ability to administer blood products as per doctors’ orders and follow protocols.
✔ Experience: Proven experience in clinical nursing, particularly in dialysis or renal care, is highly desirable.
