Key Responsibilities:
✅ Admission of patients to the treatment center, documenting medical and surgical history.
✅ Collaborating with physicians to obtain dialysis prescriptions and ensuring machines are properly disinfected.
✅ Weighing patients and calculating fluid removal.
✅ Monitoring vital signs, recording baseline data, and maintaining accurate patient records in Euclid and TDMS databases.
✅ Administering prescribed medications as per doctors’ orders.
✅ Educating patients on renal disease, treatment options, and dietary restrictions.
✅ Complying with NephroCare standards for dialysis care, infection control, and hygiene.
✅ Adhering to safety protocols, immunization policies, and stock management.
✅ Regularly updating patient files and ensuring compliance with medico-legal requirements.
Required Education & Experience:
🎓 Essential:
-
University degree or equivalent diploma in Registered General Nursing (SANC registered).
🎓 Desired: -
Experience in Haemodialysis or Peritoneal Dialysis is preferred but not essential.
Required Skills & Competencies:
✅ Knowledge of renal anatomy, physiology, and disease treatments.
✅ Proficient in clinical skills such as aseptic techniques, infection control, and venepuncture.
✅ Ability to maintain accurate records and perform monthly dialysis assessments.
✅ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with care teams.
✅ Prioritize patient safety and ethical conduct.
✅ CPR trained and competent in emergency response.
