✅ Key Responsibilities:
🏥 Resident Health & Clinical Care
✔ Take and document accurate patient history.
✔ Conduct physical assessments upon resident admission.
✔ Perform special observations (e.g., blood pressure monitoring, post-fall assessments).
✔ Assess patient acuity levels and monitor health conditions.
✔ Maintain and record residents’ personal indicators (PI) and glucose levels.
✔ Conduct routine urine tests and skin integrity checks.
✔ Administer medications (oral, intramuscular, intravenous, subcutaneous, inhalation, ear & eye).
✔ Provide wound care and change dressings following medical guidelines.
✔ Administer oxygen therapy and nebulizations as needed.
✔ Ensure compliance with medication stock control and prescription accuracy.
👩⚕️ Resident Management & Care
✔ Maintain detailed patient records, including admission and discharge documentation.
✔ Monitor and support residents with catheter control, eye care, and pressure care.
✔ Ensure dietary requirements are met and communicated to relevant staff.
✔ Assist with daily activities, ensuring residents’ comfort and dignity.
✔ Conduct basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) when necessary.
✔ Complete and update Nursing Care Plans upon admission.
✔ Ensure family members and visitors are well-oriented and informed.
✔ Coordinate doctor visits and meet medical requirements of residents.
👥 Staff & Administrative Duties
✔ Oversee and monitor care staff to ensure proper procedures are followed.
✔ Conduct in-service training for caregiving staff.
✔ Maintain accurate shift handover documentation (keys, emergency phones, alarm watches).
✔ Ensure proper record-keeping of residents’ valuables, medical aid status, and outing logs.
✔ Manage emergency medical supplies and ensure stock replenishment.
🎯 Requirements:
✔ Registered with SANC (South African Nursing Council) as an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse.
✔ Experience in long-term care or geriatric care preferred.
✔ Ability to work 16 shifts per month, including day and night shifts.
✔ Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality patient care.
✔ Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
