JOB OVERVIEW

  • This internship provides hands-on exposure within the Risk Management Unit.

  • The intern will support the implementation of risk, compliance, and fraud prevention frameworks while gaining practical public-sector experience.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in reviewing and updating divisional policies and procedures.

  • Support the conducting of risk assessments and updating operational, fraud, project, and compliance risk registers.

  • Assist with planning, monitoring, and tracking risk mitigation strategies and supporting evidence.

  • Liaise with internal stakeholders during risk assessments and register updates.

  • Support awareness and understanding of risks, emerging risks, processes, and controls.

  • Conduct research on emerging risks and applicable compliance requirements.

  • Assist in improving risk and compliance management maturity levels.

  • Support risk, compliance, and fraud awareness campaigns.

  • Provide general administrative and operational support to the Risk Management Division.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Grade 12 (Matric).

  • National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or Degree (NQF Level 7) in Risk Management, Insurance and Risk Management, Compliance Management, or Risk and Compliance.

Experience

  • No prior work experience required.

Skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Computer literacy (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
