Job Overview

The Risk Manager will provide expert second-line risk oversight across the organisation as part of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework implementation.

This senior role actively influences stakeholders, strengthens risk governance practices, ensures regulatory alignment, and drives strategic risk mitigation initiatives. The position requires strong leadership capability, regulatory engagement experience, and the ability to align enterprise risk metrics with strategic objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 2nd line enterprise risk oversight across business units

  • Strengthen risk culture maturity and governance practices

  • Lead and manage strategic risk initiatives across the organisation

  • Align internal risk metrics and reporting with corporate strategy

  • Engage with regulators and external stakeholders

  • Oversee risk lifecycle/value chain implementation

  • Ensure adherence to corporate governance frameworks

  • Provide expert advisory support on capital markets, technology risk, and banking regulations

  • Influence executive stakeholders on risk mitigation strategies

  • Support sustainable business performance through effective risk management


Qualifications

Education

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Risk and Compliance or Law

Preferred:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Risk and Compliance or Law


Experience

Required:

  • 10+ years’ risk management experience in a senior leadership role overseeing a large organisational unit (preferably within a financial institution or bank)

OR

  • Senior risk specialist experience in a leadership capacity

Additional Requirements:

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in banking regulations, capital markets, technology risk, and public policy

  • Proven experience influencing senior stakeholders

  • Strategic planning and execution of enterprise-wide risk initiatives

  • Regulatory liaison and engagement experience

  • Alignment of risk metrics and tactical objectives with strategy
