🛠️ Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business development efforts, including identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and maintaining strong client relationships.

  • Lead and manage multidisciplinary engineering teams focused on roads and transportation infrastructure.

  • Oversee full project lifecycle management, including scope planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and delivery standards.

  • Ensure high-quality technical outputs across design and construction phases of road infrastructure projects.

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with government and private sector clients.

  • Provide strategic direction and contribute to securing new engineering projects.

  • Develop innovative engineering solutions using advanced digital workflows and optimisation tools.

  • Undertake complex roads and transportation engineering tasks, analyses, and investigations.

  • Execute geometric and pavement design for roads and highways.

  • Develop stormwater and drainage designs for road infrastructure.

  • Prepare detailed engineering reports, tender documentation, and technical specifications.

🎓 Minimum Requirements

  • BEng / BSc (Eng) / BTech in Civil Engineering.

  • Professional Registration with ECSA (PrEng / PrTechEng).

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in roads and transportation engineering.

  • Proven experience working with government and private sector clients.

  • Strong strategic planning and decision-making ability.

  • Demonstrated design expertise in roads, highways, and transportation projects.

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.

  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.

  • Direct client engagement experience, including relationship management.

  • Experience in financial management and invoicing for government projects.

  • Valid driver’s licence.


💡 Advantageous Competencies

  • Experience managing P&L on engineering projects.

  • Master’s degree or postgraduate qualification in transportation engineering.

  • Advanced proficiency with digital road design tools and modelling software.

  • PrCPM (SACPCMP) and/or PMP (PMI) certification.

  • Demonstrated success in business development for engineering projects.
