π§Ύ JOB OVERVIEW
SAAT invites young, passionate South Africans to apply for the 2026 Technical Apprenticeship / Learnership Programme.
The programme provides structured theoretical and practical training in approved aviation trades, with the aim of developing highly skilled artisans who meet industry and regulatory standards in aircraft maintenance.
π§ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Participate in structured theoretical and on-the-job technical training
-
Learn and apply aviation safety standards and procedures
-
Follow technical instructions accurately and consistently
-
Work effectively as part of a technical team

Develop practical skills aligned to the selected trade

Maintain high levels of discipline, safety, and quality awareness
π QUALIFICATIONS
π Education
Option 1: Grade 12 (Matric)

Pure Mathematics: 50% (Level 4)
-
Physical Science: 50% (Level 4)
-
English: Pass required
OR
Option 2: N3 Certificate

Mathematics: 50% pass
-
Engineering Science: 50% pass
π§βπΌ Trades Offered
Applicants may select two trades in order of preference:

Aircraft Welding β Welding, repairing aircraft and engine components, plasma spraying, heat treatment

Aircraft Spray Painting β Corrosion prevention, surface treatment, aircraft interior and exterior painting

Aircraft Trimming β Manufacturing and maintenance of aircraft interiors and survival equipment

Aircraft Composite Structures β Manufacturing and repair of aircraft composite components
