Job Description:

The Sales Consultant – Off Trade position is crucial to Campari South Africa’s local commercial team in the Inland Region. The role involves managing and influencing key performance indicators, driving volume and market share through the sales force, and executing brand objectives in retail/off trade outlets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
    • Track outlet-level inventory and plan stock re-orders based on inventory and sales opportunities.
    • Ensure products are stocked and displayed according to approved planograms and pricing.
  • Visibility and Merchandising:
    • Plan and build visibility elements and in-store displays as per the annual plan.
    • Provide merchandising services and ensure compliance with state laws and guidelines.
  • Trade Management:
    • Identify and implement new business opportunities.
    • Optimize customer services and manage assets.
    • Plan and execute promotions and activations, and monitor competitor trends.
    • Build and maintain customer relationships and increase brand visibility.
  • Reporting and Performance:
    • Develop and maintain a customer database, call schedules, and market potential opportunities.
    • Plan and track promotions, campaigns, and point-of-sale materials (POSM).
    • Monitor sales, depletions, and additional opportunities for growth.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Experience: 4-6 years in the liquor industry, with experience in merchandising and retail.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to network, build relationships, and execute brand objectives.
    • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
    • Knowledge of the liquor industry and regulatory environment.
  • Attributes:
    • Self-starter with high energy levels.
    • Strong presentation and self-management skills.
    • Ability to deliver results and drive change.
    • Effective decision-making balancing market, product, financial, and organizational issues.
  • Qualifications:
    • Matric and a completed 3-year sales/marketing qualification (advantageous).
    • 3 years of relevant FMCG experience in sales and marketing.
    • Experienced driver with a Code 08.
