The Sales Engineer will manage and grow sales and business development for Danfoss VSDs and Soft Starters across South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. The role focuses on generating revenue, building customer relationships, and developing market opportunities in key industrial sectors, reporting to the Country Sales Manager.


πŸ“ Key Responsibilities

πŸ’‘ Sales & Business Development

  • Generate VSD business, including market share, volume, and profit, from existing and new customers in Mining, Minerals & Metals, and Cement sectors

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, understanding customer needs and promoting Danfoss product and service offerings

  • Develop and manage opportunity and project pipelines

  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities in designated territories

  • Develop channel partners, system integrators, EPC, and OEM sales networks

πŸ“Š Planning & Reporting

  • Prepare sales plans and monitor potential order shortfalls

  • Budget forecasting and monthly reporting

  • Manage administrative tasks in sales processes, including preparation of technical and financial offers in coordination with Customer Service

Required:

  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification

  • 3–5 years’ experience in a sales engineer role with technical expertise

  • Proven track record in sales, business development, and client management in relevant sectors

  • Experience conducting product and solution presentations

  • Established industry networks in Mining, Metals, and Cement

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of variable frequency drives (VFDs) and soft starters

  • Willingness to travel extensively across South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa
