Job Overview

The Primary School Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of learners, staff, visitors, and school facilities. This role supports daily operations and contributes directly to maintaining a secure and welcoming learning environment aligned with SPARK Schools’ values and culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Secure and lock school premises daily and rearm alarm systems

• Patrol school grounds and monitor access points

• Register visitors, issue guest passes, and provide directions

• Support learner dismissal procedures to ensure safety

• Identify and report suspicious activity or security risks

• Enforce all SPARK Schools safety and security procedures

• Assist with operational and facilities-related tasks as required

• Collaborate professionally with staff and service providers

• Participate in staff development and school events

• Maintain professional conduct at all times

Qualifications

Education

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate

Experience

• Previous security guarding experience

Skills

• English language fluency

• Valid PSIRA registration

• Grade B or C Security Certificate

• Police Clearance Certificate

• Strong observation and communication skills

• High level of integrity and professionalism
