We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Application Specialist to join our dynamic IT team in Cape Town. You will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing our applications environment, ensuring system reliability and performance across the organization. ✅ Key Responsibilities

• ✔ Maintain, support, and enhance the applications landscape, including reporting solutions and interfaces

• ✔ Collaborate closely with IT teams and end-users to troubleshoot and resolve issues

• ✔ Participate in software releases and ensure smooth implementation

• ✔ Drive performance optimization and system enhancements

• ✔ Ensure application support across frontend, middleware, and backend systems

• ✔ Document and execute change management and release procedures

• ✔ Contribute to testing new application developments and system upgrades

🧠 Skills & Experience Required

• ✔ 5+ years’ experience in IT application support, ideally within the financial sector

• ✔ Strong knowledge of change and release management principles

• ✔ Understanding of IT services architecture (applications, interfaces, infrastructure)

• ✔ Experience with:

  • SQL / PL SQL

  • Linux/Solaris and PowerShell scripting

  • FTP/SFTP solutions (e.g., Globalscape)

  • Ticketing tools like ServiceNow

  • Reporting tools like SSRS or Abacus

  • Financial systems like Olympic Banking System

• ✔ Fluent in English; German or French is a plus

• ✔ Strong diagnostic and communication skills

• ✔ Agile/DevOps experience is an advantage
