MSCI is seeking a skilled Senior Associate to join our Private Assets Index Research & Development (PA Index R&D) team in Stellenbosch. 🌟 Key Responsibilities:
- Research & Development: Design and develop innovative index/products using Python, R, and SQL.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial statements and develop new methodologies for building robust, client-ready prototypes.
- Backtesting & Analysis: Conduct extensive backtesting of private asset indexes, utilizing historical data, models, and tools.
- Client Consultation: Understand investment challenges and provide customized solutions to meet client needs.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to execute the research roadmap and support product implementation.
- Thought Leadership: Contribute to MSCI publications, webinars, and client advisory panels.
🔧 Your Skills & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a highly quantitative field such as STEM, quantitative finance, or related disciplines.
- 5–7 years of experience in quantitative research, with a focus on private markets.
- Proficient in programming (Python, R, SQL) and a strong desire to continue learning.
- Knowledge of private market analysis, financial data best practices, and client communication.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with Burgiss systems is a plus.
