Role Overview

We are seeking a meticulous Senior Bookkeeper & Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in managing the company’s financial records, processing transactions accurately, and supporting smooth accounting operations. If you have a passion for numbers, a keen eye for detail, and experience with bookkeeping software, this opportunity is for you!


Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately record and manage daily financial transactions using Zoho and MoneyWorks accounting software.

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including timely invoicing and supplier payments.

  • Reconcile bank statements, credit card transactions, and general ledger accounts regularly.

  • Assist with payroll processing, including salary calculations, deductions, and statutory payments.

  • Prepare detailed financial reports, such as balance sheets and profit & loss statements.

  • Manage VAT submissions and ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements.

  • Maintain precise expense tracking and oversee petty cash management.

  • Support budget preparation and contribute to financial forecasting activities.

  • Collaborate with operations teams using ServiceM8 to track job costs and billing.

  • Ensure financial records are well-maintained and prepared for audits.


Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.

  • Proficient with bookkeeping/accounting software such as Zoho, MoneyWorks, and preferably ServiceM8.

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, VAT regulations, and payroll processing.

  • Exceptional attention to detail with excellent accuracy in data entry and financial records.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for advanced financial reporting.


Preferred Skills

  • Experience in the construction or home improvement industry is a definite advantage.

  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with suppliers, clients, and internal teams.

  • Knowledge of inventory management systems is beneficial.
